Reading Wrap Up: March 2017

2017-04-02 01.13.26 1

Hi! I’m back with new post!

So March 2017 was quite a good reading month for me. I read a total of 8 books this month (3 of them are ebooks). So, here’s all the books I read in March:

Ebooks:

  • If You Were Mine by Melanie Harlow : 4 stars
  • Until Friday Night by Abbi Glines : 4 stars
  • Confess by Colleen Hoover : 4 stars (reread)

Physical books:

  • All The Ugly and Wonderful Things by Bryn Greenwood : 4.5 stars
  • The Kiss of Deception by Mary E. Pearson : 3.75 stars
  • Gemina by Amie Kaufman + Jay Kristoff : 5 stars
  • The Siren by Kiera Cass : 3 stars
  • Reasons To Stay Alive by Matt Haig : 5 stars (reread)

So, I reread 2 books this month. I decided to reread Confess because the TV show will come out really soon (Can’t wait!!), and I reread Reasons To Stay Alive because I feel like reading it at that time.

And my favorite book this month is obviously Gemina! I love Gemina even more than Illuminae. I know most people said that Illuminae is better than Gemina, but I love Gemina more. I know Illuminae was more brutal, but Gemina was crazier (in a good way). It felt like a wild roller coaster ride while I read it. It was so good!

And I’m a little bit disappointed with All the Ugly and Wonderful Things. I expected a lot from this book, but I found the story a little bit dragging in the middle and then the ending was so rushed. But I still enjoyed it a lot though.

And I was really disappointed with The Kiss of Deception. Like seriously. I though I would like it because I feel everyone else like this book a lot. But I don’t like it. I don’t hate it, but I don’t like it either. So I still don’t know if I’m gonna continue this series or not.

And for the Siren, I guess it’s a typical Kiera Cass’ story with fast paced story and cute romance. I love the male character in this book though. I thought he was so sweet.

So this is my March reading wrap up. Hopefully I can read more this month, and read more diversely (not just YA). I will be back with a new post really soon. Until then, hope you all have a lovely week. See you in my next post!

The blurb:

As the daughter of a meth dealer, Wavy knows not to trust people, not even her own parents. Struggling to raise her little brother, eight-year-old Wavy is the only responsible “adult” around. She finds peace in the starry Midwestern night sky above the fields behind her house. One night everything changes when she witnesses one of her father’s thugs, Kellen, a tattooed ex-con with a heart of gold, wreck his motorcycle. What follows is a powerful and shocking love story between two unlikely people that asks tough questions, reminding us of all the ugly and wonderful things that life has to offer.

Review:

So, first of all, you have to have an open mind reading this book. It is a little bit controversial, but I love controversial reads. So, little Wavy doesn’t have an easy life. She abused by her parents. But one day her mom takes her to live with her dad. Her dad is a meth dealer. But one day, on the way home, Wavy met Kellen. Kellen works for Wavy’s dead. Kellen seems so scary, big and tattoed guy. But Kellen is so nice and has a heart of gold. He basically take care of Wavy and her brother. From there, their love blossoms, although Wavy was only 8 years old the first time she met Kellen. But a big age gap doesn’t bother them all. They can talk and share about everything.

So don’t be grossed out by the relationship in this book. I know it’s not right because Wavy is a minor, but you can see that their love is something so wonderful and so pure. They truly really love each other and my heart break for them. I just want them to be together and get their happy ever after.

This book is so good. It makes me feel, it makes me cry. I cried sad tears, I cried happy tears. It fits with the title. This story is ugly and wonderful. This one is an unforgettable story.

Book Depository Online Book Store Review

Hi! I’m finally back blogging! It’s been a very long time since the last time I blogged, but now I think I will be back for real 😛

So, I just tried ordering some books from Book Depository, and here’s my review!

2017-03-01 10.31.45 1

I ordered 2 books from Book Depository on February 3rd, 2017. And then I received my the email from TBD that confirmed my order and my order will be send soon. One of the books that I ordered sent on February 4th, 2017. And the second book sent on February 6th, 2017. Oh, I know that the books will arrive around a month in here (Indonesia), so I know it takes time.

On March 1st, 2017 finally I received both books in the mail. So I guess it takes around 22 days to arrive here. So far I’m so glad with my order and definitely will order some more from Book Depository. The books came in pristine condition, the packaging is so secure. I’m so satisfied with Book Depository. Definitely recommended if you’re looking for books that you can’t find here. And sometimes Book Depository give cheaper price than any other bookstore here in Indonesia. And a great bonus, Book Depository always gives free bookmark on every order.

So here are the books that I bought from Book Depository:

2017-03-01 02.59.52 1

The Unseen World by Liz Moore (I heard so many great things about this book!)

2017-03-01 10.31.34 1

All The Ugly and Wonderful Things by Bryn Greenwood. (Already read this book, review coming up soon!)

So yeah, I hope you enjoy this post and find it useful and I hope I can write more in this blog. I’ll see you in my next post!

Book Haul

I’m so busy right now, with the thesis and whatever is going on with school, but nothing can stop me from buying books. I don’t know why, but buying books is like a remedy to me. This is the books that I got last month, and actually I really want to read it, but I don’t know I have the time or not. Hopefully in the next month.

Here are the books I got

Jojo Moyes – The One Plus One

Actually I already read a book by Jojo, called Me Before You, and I really like it. I got it in a local bookstore and I got a discount on my birthday and this is the one that I chose. And because Me Before You is so so good (amazing), I really want to read another book written by her.

Nicholas Sparks – The Best of Me

The reason I bought this book because the movie will come out soon, and I want to read the book first before I watch the movie. Like I did with Safe Haven (also by Nicholas Sparks), I read the book first then watch the movie. And I think I have to do that with this. Hopefully I can read it in this month because I love Nicholas’ books so much!

Kiera Cass – The One

Bought this book because I have the first and the second book in the series, and I think it’s a must to buy the final book (LOL). So yeah, three complete series, I can start reading it, because I haven’t read the first two books.

So this is my book haul for now. I hope I don’t buy more books in the next few months because too much books in my TBR list and so little time. Thanks so much for visiting

Have a wonderful day, peeps!
